Coquet Park Castles

Rewarding Positive Behaviour

At Coquet Park positive behaviour and thoughtful working with others is recognised as an essential element of high standards within the classroom and extended school community including the playground. Children at Coquet Park belong to one of five Castle Groups : Alnwick, Bamburgh, Dunstandburgh, Lindisfarne or Warkworth. All siblings are in the same Castle Group allowing a sense of unity and togetherness between home and school life.

The Castle system is designed to support and foster positive relationships through a strong sense of responsibility and community across school. It is also a key vehicle for spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) curriculum, promoting an understanding of direct experience of democratic systems and procedures.

How does the system work?

Castle points are freely distributed, by any adult in school, to children who are seen to be following the school rules.

Coquet Park School Rules are:

Be kind to one another

Enjoy learning and do our best

Support each other to be successful

Celebrate individual talents

Have excellent manners

Make good behaviour choices

Work as a team

Believe we can make a difference

Castle points, once awarded, cannot be taken away. There is a weekly class count and a weekly winning group in each class. Every half term, there is a whole school winning group and whole school prize. This will be a mixed age group, active afternoon which will take place in the last week of the half term. Each member of the winning Castle Group will also receive a special certificate to take home. Our excellent School Council support in collecting and counting points.
